HOW TO TAKE HAT MEASUREMENTS
First, you'll need a dressmaker's tape measure. Start at the center of the forehead, 1 inch above the brow, and measure around the head. Make sure the tape measure is above the ears. Mark the number; this is your head size.
To wear the hat higher, you should measure the forehead higher above the brow.
Some hats are meant to sit on top of the head. In this case, go with the era or style you would like to portray. Juliette and Pillbox hats sit on the head's crown.
